About us
The Lord is Peace — Jehovah Shalom
Our name comes from our church motto, Judges 6:24: “So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it, The Lord is Peace.” We exist to proclaim God’s kingdom, to walk alongside other Christians, and to worship God in our native Zo language and in Burmese.
What began as a small fellowship gathering in homes was established as Shalom Christian Church in 2021, and formally registered in New Zealand in 2025. Today we are a growing congregation of families and youth across Auckland.
